Default Necessary change to Alliance Battles

I don't know about the rest of you, but I am extremely fed up with the EoE/Bip Rangers who cast a max level EoE, then kill themselves before the match even starts. WHY they do it, I couldn't be sure.. Who joins a battle just to lose it on purpose? Luxons, that's who. They send their second account/friends who are in a Kurzick guild join and hope they get in the same AB as their main account. From there, they lay down their EoE, then kill themself, causing your whole team to die, which in turn gives points to the other team (the one their main account/friend(s) is/are on). I'm sure this is happening ontheir side too, but I'm a Kuzrick, so obviously I wouldn't know what happens on their side, nor have I noticed any unusual point gain before the match has even started.

I suggest that A.Net disable the use of skills until the doors open at the beginning of each battle, therefore rendering this cheap tactic impossible. While it would also disable monks and such from enchanting themselves first, they have plenty of time to enchant themselves before they come face to face with an enemy.

Another alternative would be to disable the use of SPIRIT skills until the doors open.

It's a war, and the eoe bomb is just a form of steelth attack, there is nothing fair in war, anything goes as long as you win. I can agree that you should be able to see if the person joining the team is allied with your side or the enemy.
That way you don't have to bring them along if you don't want to.

This is a videogame, not real life combat. Noones lives are at risk here except your character's. Its an exploit and it's unfair. I'm sure Anet is looking into it.

Anet has obviously given up on fixing faction related flaws and moved onto their new money maker -nightfall.
As much as I would like these problems to be fixed, i doubt Anet will ever get around to it.

EoE Bomb not only hurts your score but--assuming ALL they do is sac themselves--is a form of cheating as the AB is now effectively 8 vs. 12. There should be everything fair with games, so that everything can be fun.

I don't f*****g log on and play alliance battles so my time can be wasted.

I am NOT going to spend (0:30 .... 10:00) waiting for the "No opposing party" to stop flashing at me, just so I can finally make it in and play a gimped alliance battle. It becomes 8v12 since the EoE team (assuming it's a 4-man sneakfest) at the least doesn't help cap, and at the most will aim to hurt the team their on.

That's not fun. That's completely wrong; and what does it win them?
In war, you have objectives. You have goals. You have a reason to fight, and to kill.
Here, it just denies the gimped team faction.

its a stupid tactic and really theres nothing you can do about it right now.

ok, people talk about the EoE being triggered by 1 ranger killing himself......
how?
doesnt it only do like ~48 or so damage? thats not a way to wipe out a team

Full team of saccers can inflict quite a bit of damage...but still not enough to really kill off the entire team...~200 damage shouldn't be killing anyone...

but they res in 7 or so seconds (instantly now as the res system is kinda bugged) natural regeneration starts kicking in 7 seconds if the player hasnt taken any damage, naturally they will have regened around 10, if not 20 life points, a monk cant keep up against an every 7 seconds 200 damage, as well as remember that there are some players wich build strategy may require them to have more than 1 superior rune.

Even if that was sarcastic, I'm a PvE player and I *love* AB. Just because if you don't like doesn't mean others don't.

@AW Lore - Yea, I haven't run saccer and don't die a lot in AB..so I never noticed the rez time, and didn't notice that it's instant now because I haven't done it in a few days

Insta res was a bug and is now fixed, furthermore, the auto res is every 20 seconds, if you don't have some form of heal, maybe you should fit one in, even if it's mending

Two different teams work on the chapters, as you already know this. Thus I fail to see where your point is. Arena net is not EA games (which do not fix a single thing but bump out the next FIFA 2009 Edition X or NFS 18 Hot persuit 5 Classics 3 Road hunter 4) and so far they try to fix most of the things, thus I believe they will fix this too, Nightfall team will work on Nightfall, Factions team will work on chapter 4, and the support team will work on this issue.

yea they wont be busy with making nightfall to fix this, they got a whole other team doing that. so there is hope anet will do something about it like stop luxons entering kurzick ab's and visa versa, but eeeek factions team working on gw4... ut uh im avoiding gw4! i say fire team 2 and get a new team for gw4.
